Friday’s Full Moon in Aquarius (3:43am PDT) invites you to take a deep breath, step back from the drama, and see a more objective, higher perspective on where you’re at and where you’re headed.
This lunar cycle, which started at the Cancer New Moon on July 15, is mostly characterized by Water and Fire, which can feel like being caught up in a swirl of feeling and activity. This cycle also includes three different planetary stations – apparent reversals of direction – signifying turning points, and giving us a lot to digest and integrate.
The Aquarius Full Moon brings a welcome amplification of the AIR element, which holds the gifts of objectivity, neutrality and spaciousness. As the last of the Air signs, Aquarius is especially gifted in seeing the big picture, tuning into the future, and identifying what’s best for the community or collective.
Saturn, the traditional ruler of Aquarius, will turn Direct (forward) on Saturnday (August 1), ending its Retrograde that started on March 14. As Saturn stations, we’re getting a grand-finale mega-dose of Saturn in Scorpio, which started in October 2012 and calls for deep-level emotional healing. Saturn works through PRESSURE, and when Saturn is active (like, now), we can feel the pressure of too much to do, not enough time, and needing to make decisions that have long-term consequences.
In relation to this Aquarius Full Moon, Saturn in Scorpio reveals any subconscious fears holding you back and sabotaging your future. As the “reality check” planet, Saturn brings your airy Aquarius vision down to Earth, giving it foundation and roots. Saturn asks, what kind of structure, container, system, strategy do you need? What’s your plan for making it REAL?
Rather than over-asserting your will or “pushing” for answers, Saturn in Scorpio calls for shedding whatever is inauthentic, out of alignment with who you are now, and draining your juju and then allowing what’s true and authentic to rise from the ashes. One of the big Saturn in Scorpio lessons is SURRENDER – a skill that is hugely underrated and underutilized in the modern West.
• facing and working through the fear of being BIG and shining your light in the world
• clarifying and implementing the support system you need to manifest your creative vision
• getting more serious, disciplined and focused about bringing your vision into reality
• surrendering the need for approval and outside validation for expressing your true self.
To get more insight into what this Full Moon means for YOU, find the house in your birth chart that contains 7 degrees Aquarius. The areas of life signified by that house are where you’re invited to: get a big-picture perspective and clarify your future vision; surrender your ego’s agenda and trust what holds energy for you now; feel and move through any fears about expressing your true, freaky self.
