Chiron – the Wounded Healer, the Shaman, the Mentor/Initiator – stationed at the Sagittarius New Moon (November 22), and will square the upcoming Gemini Full Moon (December 6). Chiron’s starring role this Sagittarius season potentially triggers: a test (or crisis) of faith; an initiation into deeper levels of feeling – both grief and ecstasy; the pain of separation – from our own instincts and intuition, from the larger story of the world.

Saturday’s Full Moon (4:27 am PST), the energetic and emotional peak of this cycle, opens a door to healing the beliefs and stories that keep us stuck in the illusion of the separate self. Gemini is the sign of the rational mind, perception and information – the data we collect and analyze, and then weave into a coherent story and meaningful framework (Sagittarius). The Full Moon’s square to Chiron in Pisces reveals thought patterns and mental tapes that undermine our ability to listen to and trust our intuitive guidance, that reinforce seeing ourselves as victims instead of supporting us to envision and create a more positive future.

Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re moving into the darkest time of year. What are the healing stories that can sustain us through the dark? What are the stories that can build a bridge between the old and new realities, the dying and not-yet-reborn versions of ourselves and of the world?

The seasonal darkness is punctuated by the next exact square between Uranus and Pluto coming up on December 14. This will be their sixth precise alignment (out of a total of seven), correlating to the sixth chakra – the “Third Eye” or intuitive vision – reinforcing the themes of this Full Moon. Caroline Myss identifies this chakra with “Sacred Truth”: “Continually search for the difference between truth and illusion, the two forces present at every moment. Trust what you cannot see far more than what you can see.” Myss’ self-examination questions for this chakra include:  “What attitudes do you have that disempower you? What beliefs do you continue to accept that you know are not true?” (Chakra Flash)

For more insight into what this Full Moon means for YOU, find the house in your birth chart that contains 14 degrees Gemini. The areas of life signified by that house are where you’re invited to:  free your mind from self-defeating thought patterns; release and rewrite the attitudes and stories that undermine your power; make changes in your everyday life to align with your deepest wisdom and highest vision.
